The welcoming site
The Christian Science Plaza was conceived as a welcoming place for children and families, neighbors and visitors. Enhancing the open space, improving environmental sustainability, and planning for underutilized real estate, are three key goals of the project.
Enhance the open space
The many open spaces on the plaza have potential to serve the visitors to a greater degree than they do today. The project will create gateways and zones, and it will enhance traffic flow throughout the plaza.
Improve environmental sustainability
The project will address issues of water consumption and runoff related to the reflecting pool and other areas of the plaza in order to minimize waste and damage.
Identify opportunities for underutilized real estate
Existing plaza surfaces and buildings will be repaired and enhanced. These buildings are providing opportunities for office space for our new plaza neighbors.
